What To Do After An Accident

Hey, Dr. Ryan Al Alter your Delray Beach chiropractor. Have you been involved in a car crash or is someone you know, been involved in a car crash lately? Well, I want to explain a few things to you. Typically, when someone gets in a car crash. If you have injuries you think are severe enough, you might wind up going to the hospital.

And when you go to the hospital, what they’re gonna do, they’re gonna do some diagnostic tests, usually some x-rays. Oftentimes here in Del Re, they’ll do CT scans. Okay. And then if you don’t have anything that’s life threatening. They’re gonna give you a prescription for some medications and they’re gonna send you out the door.

The job of the hospital is to make sure you’re not gonna die and then get you out of there so they can take care of the next person who might have life-threatening injuries. Their job is not to make sure your back or neck is okay. That’s not their job. My job is to make sure your spine, your back, and your neck.

Are okay. And it heals properly so you don’t wind up with a big mess 3, 4, 5, 20 years later. So when someone gets in a crash, they should come and see me because what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna carefully evaluate every vertebrae, their entire spine. That’s not done at the hospital. So we’re gonna evaluate every vertebrae.

I might take a few of my own x-rays. And then I’m gonna put together a plan to help this person heal and get better so then the future, they don’t wind up with a big, giant mess. We want the spine to heal as good as it can with the least amount of scar tissue. So if you’re ever in a wreck, if anyone you know is ever in a wreck, tell them to come and see me.
