Hey, Dr. Ryan Alter, your Delray Beach chiropractor. Today, I wanna go over exactly what happens, actually, the mechanics of what’s, what’s what’s actually happening when the chiropractor makes an adjustment. So we’ve got our model spine here. This is gonna act as the patient, so when the patient is lying down on the table, the chiropractor comes in.
And makes these adjustments and what’s actually happening. Well, I’m gonna show it to you and I’m gonna explain it to you. So here we have kind of a zoomed in version of your spine and some vertebrae. This is a bone, the vertebrae. This is your disc, and here’s the nerve that comes out between the vertebrae.
And what can happen is these vertebrae start to wedge, wedge, wedge, wedge, wedge back, and start to pinch that nerve. And that’s what causes most of the symptoms. And the chiropractor’s job is to find out where that’s happening. And then with our adjustments, tap, tap, tap, tap. And we’re working, working, working this vertebrae forward as far as we can to open that nerve hole and take pressure off that pinched nerve.
That’s what the chiropractic adjustment does. That’s what’s actually happening when we apply that force. You can see how this is very different than a lot of the other things people do for back pain. Massage doesn’t do that. Acupuncture doesn’t do that. Needle injections don’t move the vertebrae forward.
The key is moving the vertebrae forward and getting pressure off that nerve so the patient can get better. We’re here in Delray Beach. We want to be a resource for you and anybody you know. Our goal and our mission is to make sure that everyone in this area is feeling their best.
