X-Ray of Scoliosis Patient

Hey, Dr. Ryan Alter, your Delray Beach chiropractor. I wanted to show you an x ray today. Most people don’t get a chance to look at x rays and this x ray is kind of unique. I want to just kind of show you what we’re looking at here. If you look, this is somebody’s spine. Okay. And the spine should be straight.

Okay. You see this? This should come down straight and we see it kind of buckling over here. If you look at this spine, Okay. From this angle, it should be perfectly straight. And what’s happened is it’s buckling like that. We call that a scoliosis. The interesting thing is this patient didn’t even know They had the scoliosis there.

I don’t remember exactly 50 years old. They’ve lived their entire life like that and never knew that their spine is buckling to the side. This is one of the reasons when people come into my office. Most of the time we’re going to take a set of x rays to see what we’re dealing with. You think I’m going to treat this patient a little bit differently than if they had a perfectly straight spine?

Of course, of course. So we, we want to look at the spine, see the underlining conditions so we can do a great job with each and every patient. There’s a lot of unique stuff I see here on x ray. I’m going to continue to share some of these with you. I think it’s very interesting. So again, lateral curve to the spine, we call that a scoliosis.

Most of the time people don’t know about that unless they had an x ray. Okay. We take x rays. We have digital x ray so we can see exactly what we’re doing so we can do the best job for you and everybody. You know, we’re here in Delray Beach and we’re here to make sure that you’re feeling your best.
